Maynard H. Belt - Personal Profile

Maynard and Ann Belt
Maynard H. Belt was saved at the age of sixteen from a non-churched home through the ministry of the First Baptist Church in Allegan, MI. A year later he enrolled at the Baptist Bible College and Seminary in Grand Rapids to prepare for ministry. There he met and married Ann in June, 1963, after which they embarked upon a life long journey of ministry for the Lord.
For nearly twenty-five years he served as senior pastor of four churches in Michigan. His ministry has emphasized expository preaching and teaching, discipling of new Christians, a concern for the souls of men, and a care for the sheep of His flock. His burden for Missions has resulted in increased giving in each of his churches and visits to the mission fields both at home and abroad. Most recently he has been guest speaker at the Baptist Mid-Missions South Brazil Region Family Conference, instructor of a Master’s Module at the Regular Baptist Seminary in Curitiba, Brazil, and conference speaker at the annual BMM Family Retreats in Lima, Peru, and Anchorage, Alaska.
Over the years he has served on the advisory councils/boards of ABWE, Grand Rapids Baptist College & Seminary, as well as representative on the Council of Fifteen of the Michigan Association of Regular Baptist Churches and the Council of Eighteen of the General Association of Regular Baptist Churches. He has also served as conference pastor for the annual National Conference of the GARBC. Presently he serves on the General Councils of Baptist Mid-Missions, Continental Baptist Missions and Bible Tracts, Inc. He has had the privilege of ministering in chapel services for several professional sports teams and has spoken in Sunday School conferences, Leadership Seminars, Missions Conferences and Retreat settings in several churches. He has also conducted several Discipleship Seminars using his own published materials.
From 1990-2006, he served as the State Representative of the Michigan Association of Regular Baptist Churches, a fellowship of some 200 churches. His responsibilities included speaking in some forty to fifty churches each year, assisting churches in finding a pastor, editing the monthly state paper, The Baptist Testimony, and sending a monthly e-mail note of encouragement to hundreds of pastors and missionaries entitled, “The Barnabas File.” Maynard and Ann reside in Grand Rapids, MI, near their four children and six grandchildren. He is presently serving on the pastoral staff of his home church, West Cannon Baptist Church, Belmont, MI, as Associate Pastor of Senior Ministries and Care. Maynard is also available for occasional Faith Promise Missionary Conferences, Bible Conference Ministry, and Overseas Ministries as special representative for Church Relations with Baptist Mid-Missions.
