Seeing the Hand
of God in Affliction

Understanding Seasons of Suffering From Heaven’s Perspective Rather Than Earth’s View
Available in Paperback and Kindle eBook format
These lessons have been prepared and written out of many personal experiences my sweet wife, Ann, and I have had through our fifty-eight plus years of marriage and ministry.
Over the years I have had the privilege of teaching and preaching on this subject in local churches, Bible conferences, seniors’ Adult Bible Fellowships, and upon one occasion, preaching them as an interim in a local church while the pastor was on sabbatical.
Other than experience and the guidance of the Holy Spirit through reading of Scripture, my tutors have been reading and studying the lives of the Puritans.
That is why so many Puritan quotes will be found in these studies. I have prepared this in a teaching format but also believe that it is very readable for someone desiring to learn more about Seeing the Hand of God in Affliction.
A Preparatory Foundation for Pastoral Ministry

Ministerial Apprentice Program (MAP)
Available in Paperback and Kindle eBook format
The purpose of this book is to give ministerial students a preliminary view of pastoral ministry from a practical perspective. It will familiarize those sensing a call from God into ministry with some helpful insights that are not always taught in present-day seminary curricula.
Ministry is people and the closer we can get to them, the more effective we will be in serving them spiritually. Pastors are servant leaders. Warren Wiersbe defines ministry this way: “Ministry takes place when divine resources meet human needs through loving channels to the glory of God.”
Hopefully, the following course of study will be beneficial to any recognizing God’s special call upon their lives for vocational ministry.
Scripture Meditations

From the Pen of Maynard H. Belt
Available in Paperback and Kindle eBook format
Often times through the years it has been my habit to express my gleanings from Scripture and sermon study through poetry. It has been a way for me to put my pen to paper journaling my walk with the Master. It has been a wonderful journey and my only regret is that I haven’t spent more time in quiet meditation upon His Word and in His presence. It is impossible to get too much of God.
My mentors in doing so have been the writings and meditations of the Puritans. Their contemplations upon the Scriptures have brought much encouragement, conviction, and a need for solitude in my own life. They have taught me the value of expressing one’s heart through the instrument of writing. It has also greatly assisted me in my various ministries. As Thomas Watson has said regarding meditation, “It has given me strength from heaven to do the work of heaven.”
These expressions of my heart have come from reading the Scriptures so I would encourage you to please read the texts first before reading the verses. Spend some time in quiet meditation upon each one and see what the Lord might reveal to you.
